    Officially On Annual Leave

Finally. U cannot even begin to imagine. My boss tried twice in 2 days to convince me to postpone but I was adamant.

Anyways, I cant beleive how easy it is to switch to holiday mode. I have 5 working days worth of errands to run and ive already booked and scheduled events, coffees, breakfast meets, hair dresser appointments, tailor visit, etc to keep me busy for four of them. I guess the fifth I will spend packing. I cant wait.

So this will be my first visit ever to Morocco. Last year I went to Tunis and i wasnt very impressed. Later I was told that I went to the shi-shi poo-poo typically touristic spots and missed the important bits. Well this year im a lot more prepared. Will be staying with a very good friend who is Moroccan so I will have a proper tour guide.

Funny thing is that whenever I tell anyone that im going to Morocco they say "thats a guy's holiday place, what are YOU going to do there??"

Well I guess Im going to get photographic evidence of the naughty boys huh!!!

    *evil smile*

While you aren't ready to throw away all wedding tradions, you want a wedding with a twist
You're more inspired by celebrity weddings on E! than from bridal magazines
Whether this means getting married on the beach barefoot or a mariachi band for the reception...
Your wedding will be a blend of old and new - white dress cocktail, personalied vows, whatever suites you!!!
What Kind of Bride Will You Be?

and the shocker of all shockers!!!

    You Are Most Like Charlotte!

You are the ultimate romantic idealist
You've been hurt before, but that hasn't caused you to give up on love.

Im a Copy Cat - Thanks Abdullah ;P

I couldnt help it. I discovered a new blogger and Im checking every day for updates. This is a repeat of a previous steal of the "whats my pet" but this guy just had the whole shebang. So Im copying him. Thanks Abdullah

For you, falling in love is all about the adventure and uncertainty. You can only fall in love with someone who keeps you guessing.

    My First Time Tagged

Never knew the concept of tagging. Now I do. So here goes.

    1. Are you happy with your blog, the template and what you write?

I think I am yes. Why wouldn't I be happy. I'm getting a decent response and I LOVE the colors. If I wasn't happy with what I write, I wouldn't write it.

    2. Does your immediate family know about your blog?

Hhhhmmmm. I've told my sister. She reads it every once in a while. Parents aren't really net kinda of people. Brothers?? I hope not. LOL

    3. Are you embarrassed to tell a friend about your blog? Or do you consider it something personal?

I told all my friends about my blog. Trying to get them to hike up the visit counter. LOL. How personal can it be if its online for the entire world to see.

    4. Did blogs brought a positive impact on your thoughts? If the answer is yes, give examples.

    haven't decided yet.

    5. Do you only visit blogs that visit you or do you explore other blog?

I try to explore but I get lost in a maze. So what I do is that if someone visits and comments on my blog and I liked theirs, then I will put them on the "blogs I like" list. And those are the ones that I visit. Otherwise, sorry. I guess people are gonna have to try to make a bigger impact on me. LOL

    6. What the does visitor count mean to you? And do you think its important to put it?

Soooo much. LOL. I'm so vain. Bet I think this song is about me. Teehheee. Seriously, I think the number counts towards my level of success.

    7. Do you try to picture your friends in blogs?

Nope, I would go crazy if I tried that.

    8. Do you see a real benefit from blogging?

Yeah. Venting. I vent in writing so blogging really lets off steam. For the punching kinda people, I wouldn't recommend it. LOL

    9. Do you thing that the blogging society is an isolated society or it reflects what's happening around us?

Not really. You would find out a lot more about what's happened here in the bloggosphere than the papers or the news. Its exciting.

    10. Are you bothered with criticism? Or you feel its healthy?

I think criticism is healthy. It helps you straighten out what needs to be straightened out. Provided its from someone u know and trust. Anonymous criticism usually goes in one ear and comes out the other.

    11. Are you scared of Political Blogs?

They freak me out. I hate politics.

    12. Were you shocked by the arrest of some bloggers?

    Who?? When?? Why?? How??

    13. Did you think of what will happen to this blog when you die?

    It will die with me.

    14. What's the song you would like to link it to this blog?

I started off thinking it was gonna be "Tempted to Touch" specifically the opening line of "For All The Ladies In The House . . . " But now I'm moving towards "Youre So Vain." LOL

    15. Who would you like to pass it to?

Ok first of all I don't know whether this is supposed to be a nuisance or whatever?? Cos I've seen people go "oh no I got tagged again" but since its my first time, I don't care I'm gonna be tagging the world and a half.

Arab Lady, Devilish, MD, Mysterious, Noors, Per Your Request, Qatar Cat and finally Red Dragon.

    Enjoy people.

    A Taste of Disability

You know how people always tell u to do a test where u blind fold yourself and go through the entire day like that just to have a taste of what the blind go through their entire life?? Well i didnt need to run a "test" as I am living it for the past 12 hours and im about to go crazy.

Last night, I was in a rush leaving my friends house to come back home and I twisted my ankle because I forgot about a certain step down. I collapsed on the floor but picked myself up straight away impressed with myself cos I didnt drop my car keys from my right hand OR anything from my handbag that was very full and very open.

Anyways, in my rush, it seems that I didnt feel any pain and when i got home i collapsed into bed from exhaustion. This morning, when I took one step out of bed, I fell to the floor in agony. I went to the clinic to get it checked out and since its a national holiday, I was given a pressure bandage and asked to come back tomorrow morning for x-rays.

Point being, Ive been hobbling around the house unable to do much since im in so much pain. Ive been lying down on the TV room couch with my foot elevated and everyone running around getting me anything and everything I need.

I have to admit, it was nice for the first half an hour and then it became too much. I was SOOOO bored all day. Thought a lot about how to make my blog receive a lot of comments. I watched four movies back to back and was eating constantly through out the day. Luckily I was occasionally distracted, in between munches, by a few conference calls and some friends calling to check up on me.

Even though its the perfect excuse, I still have to leave town tomorrow on business and therefore cannot take the day off from work. PLUS have less than one working week before I finally go off on my long awaited annual leave.

This is SOOOO not the time to experience partial disability.

Gala Fund Raising Dinner @ Shangri La Bar Al Jissah Resort & Spa

    Hello everyone (located in Oman),

There is a fund raising dinner that will be held at the Shangri La Next Sunday the 27th of August.

All proceeds will be going through Oman Charitable Organisation in order to help rebuild Lebanon.

Shangri La have generously donated the ballroom for 700 guests. The even is being organised by the Zubair Corporation and donations include a Peagout 407 for a prize draw. Other gifts are available in the form of prize draws as well as an auction that will be held in the evenings. The auction items include a helicopter ride, Tiffany Jewelry, photographs taken by Al Zubair and other things I dont remember.

Tickets are going for OMR 35/- of which ALL proceeds will go to Lebanon.

For those not interested in attending the dinner but are interesting in donating otherwise, there are other ways to do it either by donating cash, whether to me or writing a cheque or directly to the OCO account. You can also buy t-shirts that will be available for sale starting tomorrow.

If anyone is interested in donating or even volunteering for the sales booth at city centre, please let me know by a comment.

    Escaping From Reality

How is this possible?? And how effective is it?? I mean ignoring phone calls because u are not prepared for a specific kind of conversation helps. But for how long??

Im the kind of person that detests confrontation. Dont expect me to be eloquent when it comes to explaining myself or even fighting back. Im more of a "uh uh uhm ur such a bitch" kind of person. Amazingly enough the majority of my friends are the face-to-face talk kind of people.

On the other hand, if approached in a nice way where I dont feel like im being attacked, i will give you what u need on a silver platter.

Now, how do i prefer to be confronted??

In writing. Whether its an SMS or an email. Yeah yeah yeah. Laugh all you want. Its just the way I am. That way I will have my own time to absorb the situation PLUS I will not be able to escape from it. Because its right there in writing. Whereas a verbal confrontation would go in one ear and out the other PURELY because Im not happy with the tone of voice.

Ive been told that I should persue a writing career. A "Bridget Jones's Diary" style book where I describe certain events etc. Apparently I have a way of expressing things without people needing the snooze button. But I dont agree. Its not capturing people from words on paper. I think that for someone to be a successful writer, they need to be quick thinkers when taken by surprise and put on the spot.

"Uh what?? Thats not true. Im not even going to dignify that with an answer"

Needless to say, I am NOT persuing a writing career.

    7arakat

Ive just made some changes on my blog. I realised that I havent been checking out blogs of those that have been regularly checking mine. I felt bad.

So now Ive added a whole bunch of people's blogs on my links list.

Also decided that whoever doesnt comment on my blog will be deleted from the list. LOL.

Oh yeah, I got my first "hate mail" today. Pretty much an exciting day.

    First Times

Everything has a first time. Whether its the first time you ride a roller coaster, the first drive u get behind the wheel, the first kiss, the first designer handbag u bought for urself, etc. Theres a first time for everything and you go through first times almost every single day.

How come some count and some dont?? Some make ur heart race BEFORE they happen and some your heart doesnt race until AFTER. Some things go by without realising at all.

I realised that first times that relate to relationships are the ones that really matter. Even if they only happened once or even if they are nothing special.

"Remember the first time u took me to Sultan??"

Whats so special about Sultan?? Girls. Waaaaaaaayyy too emotional. And so easily satisfied. LOL

I love first times. But im also scared of them. I feel like Im running out of first time things. And then what will happen??

This is my first time to wear this t-shirt. It looks good on me.

Honesty is NOT The Best Policy

Take it from me. Someone who has suffered some extreme consequences for being honest. It is NOT the best policy.

Never tell a friend what you really think about another friend.
Never tell a friend what you think about them. They will never understand.
Never even think that u might be doing anyone any favours by providing honest advice. Even if they asked and begged for it.
Never fall for a friends request of "Im looking for something specific, can you help?" bullshit.
Never try to set up any friends together.
Never provide advice that isnt asked for.
Keep your opinions to yourself. Unless the friend agrees with them, ur always the bad guy.

I have learned that a friend expects you to think the best of them. I always thought that its the flaws and mistakes that make a person unique and special. And thats what I love my friends for. The quirky aspects of their personalities that I might not necessarily agree with. But I never judge. If I did I wouldnt have been their friend.

I will never think like that again. And especially never verbalise what I really think about anyone ever again. Its not worth it having good intentions at heart and then coming out the bitch / asshole that ruined someone's life.

    Weekly Day Off

Ok heres the story. I get a weekly day off from work where I have the option of choosing either Thursday or Saturday. (This applies to everyone not just me).

Anyways since this system started, Ive only taken my day off three or four times which means that for the past 3 months, Ive been working 6 days a week. Not that Im complaining. I love my job and I have a lot to do so going in an extra day a week helps me get a lot done.

Anyways so today I decided to take my weekly day off. I wake up at 930 am. Correction. I was WOKEN UP at 930 am because my car was blocking my brothers car and he wanted to go out. Anyways, I stumble out in my PJs and sleepily move my car out and then back in when my brother goes. Thankfully without adding anything to the collection of existing scratches and then stumble back into the house. Then reality hits me.

Shit!!! Its a Thursday morning and Im home alone. And awake. I cant go back to sleep cos Im the kind of person that once I leave my bed, I cannot go back to sleep.

So theres Thursday morning ruined for me. Thankfully Ive got a pretty busy day ahead and I also managed to squeeze in a nice lunch date with my sister at Traders. I managed to convince her to cancel a massage appointment by dangling a lunch invitation. Thankfully she took the bait.

Hhhmm. Now that Im going to run all my errands today including catching up with some old friends etc. I wonder what Im going to do tomorrow. I hate Fridays.

All in all, Ive discovered that I preferred NOT to have a weekly day off. Pretty useless post but Im venting. Leave me alone.
