Car crash - last Thursday - minor - insurance company and dealership giving me hell over it

Dubai - was there last weekend. it was amazing as usual. Car crash involved a friend.

Dubai - during the mawlid il nabi holidays - i was involved in a car crash in a cab.

What is it with car crashes?? am i a disaster waiting to happen????

New Beginnings Are Always Good

Who can complain?? Everything is new in my life at the moment.

Made some great new friends - some are old friends from my early teens who I am getting back in touch with but its as good as new. I mean neither they nor I are the same people we used to be in our early teens.

I got a new job - which is very exciting. I finally got out of the rut I was in that was NBO.

My cousin got married last week - that was an amazing wedding honestly. No fights nothing, except for me nearly burning down the bride's stage at some point. DONT ASK.

A good friend of mine got married a couple of weeks ago. Wishing you a very very happy life.

What else!!! Well I guess I cant say my car is new, Ive had it since November. Oh fuck it. As long as its less than one year old then it IS new. LOOOOL.

Im Sinnnnnging in the Raaaain . . .

Somehow every time it rains here, i remember the movie and a guy holding an umbrella wearing a yellow raincoat and prancing about in the rain. i wanna do that. but it has to be the whole shebang. I WANT A YELLOW RAINCOAT.

So hows everyone doing?? I love rain. I love waking up in the morning to the sound of rain hitting the window, i love driving with my wind wipers on full, i love the excitement of not seeing 3 metres ahead.

Blah - I'm depressed. Who am i kidding??

Giving Up Hope

Do you ever feel that you have reached a point in time when you just give up hope?? When you shoulders just sag without u noticing, your eyes are just droopy and lazy, your vocal chords are for some reason not working properly, your answer to almost everything is "yeah whatever" and finally you find yourself shedding a tear for the stupidest of things?? Well it happens, and lately it has been happening to me alot. And I really dont like being in the company of people when they keep saying to me "3aneeda cheer up, nothing is worth it, it will work out in the end, blah blah blah"

So what do you think happens?? U end up staying away from everyone cos you are so sick and tired of being told to cheer up and everything will work out. Cos it wont, therefore you have given up hope!!! Doesnt it make sense??

Men Are Wimps

Now you see the man - usually hes the one u go to with puppy eyes and a big jar of cream cheese usually flicking your hand, "please open this for me, I couldn't" - BLAH. That's all they are good for. The physical stuff. Anything that requires rubbing two brain cells together and you can cross that off the list. Anything that requires usually anything got to do with emotions and you can start laughing / daydreaming.

What is it with men exactly and commitment?? They would GLADLY be your unofficial husband in the form of running your errands, fighting for your honour, opening doors, scaring off any other suitors, etc. BUT when it comes to adding that piece of paper into the equation, they freak out!!! I mean yeah OK i get it, the paper is binding and long term, but if you already decided that this is the person you want to marry than whats stopping you?? Don't they get it!! Its not like girls are wedding piranhas!!! Well some are but most aren't. That piece of paper is, for me personally, i would consider it as security. And I'm not talking about the "Hes not playing around" kind of security, no. I'm talking "Now I don't have to sneak around" kind.

Logically speaking - an engagement is formal dating. You are able to do it publicly without worrying about which member of the extended family will you get busted by. At the end of the day its just an engagement, its not even that scary piece of paper. If things don't work out they just don't!!! End of story. No shame in it. But wouldn't every guy be more comfortable going out with his girlfriend (lets for the sake of comfort NOT call her a fiance), without having to do a random dash for the bathroom when a fathers cousin is passing by, or having her scoot down in the car when the brother is in the next lane??

Yes yes yes, I know what everyone is thinking. Not true. Just ranting and raving. My business. Shoo away.

New Years Resolutions

I dont really beleive in them. There is really no point. I mean why do you need to wait until the end of the year / beginning of the year to decide what u want to do for the next 12 months?? You can do that any other time of year. Its completely pointless. Especially those regular ones that u never stick to like loosing weight, becoming a better person, going to the gym, working harder in studies/career. Honestly its all bullshit.

I just take this chance to reflect on the past 12 months and think "am I happy with that" but its not only in New Years. Its basically on every other milestone such as birthdays and anniversaries and such things. I guess its just an excuse to get together with friends and have a good time.

Anyways, as a recap to past posts, I have rejected the unknown knight in shining armour. I guess a girl cant really think with her head without taking her heart into great consideraton. Sucks though. I hate that but hey what to do?? You satisfy the heart and you end up usually happier.

Hope everyone has a great year ahead. 2007 was generally not a very good year for most. 2008 inshallah will be much better.

Blog changes

Ive made changes, they are not coming up. I added some blogger friends and added the counter that mysteriously dissappeared. HELP!!!

I am eerily calm . . .

. . . or so I have been told countless times over the past few weeks. Apparently I have lost my vibrancy and contagious ecxitement that I used to have and am now someone who clearly has so much on their mind and shoulders. That may be true but is it such a bad thing??? If its not, then how come when I get told and I quote "Your sudden calmness is freaky - like your about to blow", it is said with a few receding steps and a mental flee!!! Now the worst one was "What happened to you, your calmer, I don't like it."

So I am not as hyper as I used to be a few months ago. SO FUCKING WHAT!!! Are people not allowed to change?? Is this not a sign of growing up?? Am I not allowed to actually show that I might be going through some rough times?? Am I to always be Little Miss Sunshine despite all the rains?? Am I not allowed to HAVE problems??

I Do / I Don't

I have reached that stage in my life when I cannot use the excuse of "I'm still too young" cos I'm just NOT. I'm 27 years old and I have to start thinking wisely.

I have this option fallen into my lap, the kind that I have been dreading my whole life but knew it was bound to happen sometime. Actually it had already happened a few times before but what I meant is that I was bound to think about it seriously at some point. Well the time has come.

Never really believed in arranged or semi-arranged marriages. Always thought I would be the kind of person that marries for love even if it was at the age of 35. Well I guess my body clock is ticking, as well as the daily engagement news I keep hearing about people I know.

So what should I do?? Wait for the person I'm in love with to get ready for marriage and propose or accept the proposal that is already on the table from a "work acquaintance"?? Should I risk the chance of missing the hypothetical train of marriage for love or should I jump on before it starts speeding up again!!!

Random Photos - Part IV

So I thought a good idea for a recap would be by the 4th edition of my random photos. So here goes.

I think a picture speaks a thousand words. Yes I bought a new car. Ordered in August and delivered in November. It was a long painful wait.

My brother got married in October. This is the mab5ara. I think majority of people are familiar with the concept. I will only explain if someone asks. LOL

July was a good month. A few days after my birthday, a bunch of friends from London came to visit. Five friends landed in Muscat, and another six we met up with them in Dubai. Was quiet an eventful 2 weeks spent in Dubai. Some friends even managed to go to Saudi but obviously I didnt.

I finally went to Hoota Cave a few days ago. It was fun. Not what I expected though. I guess I didnt know what I was expecting.

Some time in November I went to Al Nahda Resort for a week. That in itself was a story. I was supposed to be relaxing but dont let the picture fool you. I came back after that week and slept for 16 hours straight.

Back from the Dead

I know i know - its been so long. Over 6 months I beleive. But so much has happened in these 6 months. I guess I will be / should be blogging more often now especially since Ive been staying home a lot and spending most of my time online. But for some reason I completely forgot about this. I was reminded today when I got an email telling me that I got a blog comment from Arab Lady. let me tell u something. That was some wake up call.

Firstly I would like to apologize to everyone. Did not mean to be rude but life and its rather powerful curve balls have kept me very disoriented and unsure of what my aim in life is. Im getting back on track though.

I dont know where to start. I dont want to do the regular recap of what happened over the past 6 months cos thats just lame. So from now on I guess I will just be 3anooda. Lets see how that goes.

Havent been around for a while

Its funny how being busy for so long really screws u up. I havent sat my butt down for longer than an hour for the past three weeks. Now since I got back home late last night, I havent left the vicinity of the living room and my bedroom. Its a nice feeling but if it follows that extremely busy period, I usually end up feeling really really bored.

Tonight wasnt too bad though. Im watching this really old movie. Its funny. I think its the movie that launched Christina Millian's career. About this looser kid who actually semi-pays this hottest chick in school to hang out with him.

On commercial breaks, Im watching Daddy's Spoiled Little Girl or whatever its called. There spoiled poor little rich girls are basically talking about their tehcniques in keeping their millionaire dad busy and giving them attention so that he doesnt spend time with his girlfriend.

I think I just proved my level of boredom.

Today looks like its gonna be a good day. Another friend is coming down to Muscat for a visit and some extensive planning is required. She arrives tonight and is staying until Saturday. You probably dont know that "another" is because a different friend was here last month for a week. We had a lot of fun. She wasnt into the typical touristy thing so many many trips to Starbucks and Darcy's were done. LOL

This time, its gonna be dolphin watching and Nizwa souq.

So whats new with everyone?? Oh yeah im going to dubai next weekend. YAY. A friend is getting engaged. So exciting.

Blargh. Maybe I shouldnt have had hot soup with Pocari Sweat!!! I dont think they mix well.
