Verbal Abuse - How to deal with it??

Ever been in a situation where you are being constantly verbally abused by a superior?? Whether its your boss, your parents, your older siblings, etc. How are you supposed to deal with it?? What draws the line??

How would you react when your boss says "I need to slap her so that she can get the work done"?? Isnt that just gone a tad overboard??

Basically it has happened to me recently. Well its been ongoing for the past few months but it really went over the top over the past couple of weeks. Of course 3aneeda would never let such a thing go by without escalating it. I will have final results within a week. In all cases, I am soooo out of this department, its not even funny.
