    I Am The Same Person I Was 2 Years Ago . . .

. . . or have I changed??? It's funny when you think you are still the same person but when you really look back you realise that you have changed. These changes happen very very subtley but if you compare for example January 1st 2008 to January 1st 2006, you will think "damn who WAS i??". But I guess life experiences force these changes on you.

A simple example for myself. Over 2 years ago I started blogging and one of my most enjoyable posts to write was this one. I really enjoyed making the list and as I made the list realising that Im really not that picky about what I was my other half to be. But as we single ladies out there grow older, our priorities change dramatically. Ah the cynical old me as per a once upon a post about love almost exactly two years ago that no longer exists.

So basically I amended the old list in order to incorporate the new me. After amending it I realised it sounds like its pretty similar but trust me, its VERY different. I know it but perhaps I cant really explain it. Anyways the final result is as follows:

Must-haves (personality related characteristics) - no major changes really

    1. Respect - notice this comes top of the list and before love. And respect will ALWAYS top love for me.
    2. Sense of humour - if he cant make me laugh hes OUT (upgraded)
    3. Someone who loves me for who I am and will not try to change me.
    4. Open-minded but not of a western mentality. I dont want someone who says "SO WHAT, WHO CARES?" if i mention that something is socially unacceptable in our society. Obviously I care to a certain extent.
    5. Not too religious - but multazim and knows his God.
    6. Social and out-going to a limit - i dont want a party animal.
    7. Has similar hobbies and interests as me (mainly cars and water activities) - notice its no longer "same" but now "similar". I will never find a guy that enjoys hours of shopping so I had to compromise. LOOOOL
    8. Intellectually stimulating - i like an educated reader
    9. Accepting of my male friends
    10. Confident and self assured - i dont like those so-so guys that need someone to make a decision for them - he has to be shwaya ba6ran and 3indu haiba.
    11. Romantic - im all about romance, flowers and presents will always put a smile on my face especially when there is no occasion for it - even if the present was a chocolate bar cos he knows it makes me feel good.

    Must-haves (non-personality related characteristics)

    1. Tall - at least 173 cm in height - i still want him taller than me when i wear my heels
    2. Big built - i like a guy who when he hugs me, i dissappear - might be a little difficult to find but basically i dont want no skinny asses
    3. Good stable job with a steady income - i dont want the reason for me working to be the NEED for money but more of his support for my personal and professional growth. Wealth is not an issue for me. Bil3aks, I would prefer it that he wasnt that wealthy so that I know 15 years down the line that we made our nice comfortable life together by ourselves with no help from no daddies. LOL.
    4. No long hair - dont like that on guys
    5. Trendy - im a fashionable person, if pink is in fashion, i want him to wear pink provided he likes it and it suits him - i will not force it though - he still has to be individual and unique in his own exclusive way
    6. Very good english speaker - i communicate mainly in english, cant think too fast in arabic
    7. Of an upbringing similar to mine - i dont want someone who lived and has a completely different family life experience from me - simple small things really make a difference. Which is one of the main reasons I will NEVER consider a western guy. The differences are just too much. Then again ask me in ten years I would have half this list. Beggars cant be choosers. LOOOOL

So honestly, is it too much to ask?? I beleive that Im being relatively realistic.

5ashim update: 6ala3 il 3ayyar is on annual leave - LOOOL 7ata ma gal. 3araft min sikirtayrat mudeeri il youm. Bayrid taree5 October 12th which means I will already be on MY annual leave.
