    In Pictures: Today I Realised That . . .

. . . the paint on my right click button on my laptop is scratched off and there is a white patch

. . . my dad is such a gentleman so much that he parks his car outside so that the ladies of the house can park inside even if he gets home before anyone else (garage fits 3 of the 4 cars of the house)

. . . the annoying clicking sound that I hear in my car while driving, which I thought was something broken in the car and even got it checked out by the dealership, was the following 7arakat on my bag that were clicking together (how embarassing)

. . . when you park in a full parking lot, you think you did such a good job but when the parking lot is empty you realise how badly you parked. Seriously??? Didnt think it could ever be that bad.

. . . working hours in Ramadhan are 9 to 2 but if I leave the office at 2 I reach home at the same time I would if I leave at 315.

A Strange Day @ Work - Completely Useless Post

Im having a really strange day at work today.

I came in with my laptop which is something I never did ever in my entire 7 year professional career. Ask me why??

Sorry just got distracted cos an accident happened just now outside my office building. And the day gets stranger.

I got my laptop to work ma9a5a. No reason. Mako she'3l. Shasawi!!! Im obsessed. Im hacking into the upstairs neighbours wireless internet. LOL. Im evil.

It just hit me that today is Monday. Therefore 6 more working days. Then Its the Eid holidays. And since Im on leave, this means that I will not come back to this office until November 2nd. It still hasnt hit me yet.

Ive been taking crazy pics around the office. Will post some when I get home cos I didnt get the memory card reader to work. Hatha ili ga9ir ba3ad. Ayeeb il 3idda kilha wala chani Im supposed to be working.

I dont have work. Got literally nothing to do. Have a huge list of things that depend on delivery of other people though. So cant really do much. So they have 6 days to deliver or else it will be 6 weeks delayed.

Some idiots in the parking lot blocked a drive way thinking its a parking. Therefore because 2 very lazy people blocking the in and out, you are talking about around 20 odd cars being stuck INSIDE a parking lot. No other way out.

I am a very nosy person. I like to know things about people preferably if they tell me themselves. Yet Im also a dodo. Ask me what u told me next week and I honestly will not remember.

Im wearing socks with ballerina flats. Cos its cold at work. The flats are red and the socks are white and blue stripes. Dorothy perhaps?? Mali 5ilg to colour co-ordinate min il 9ub7. My jeans cover anyways.

I just realised I have 2 tubes of hand lotion on my desk and a large bottle inside the drawer. Yet when in the office and I wanna use hand lotion I use the one I have inside my handbag.

My just-in-case candy (starburst sour chews) that I keep in my handbag and never eat has now expired. I think I bought it last March.

I want kids. Max 2. One boy and one girl. The girl will be called El 3anood and the father can chose the name of the boy but I like Fahad. Can I have kids without getting married??

I want to get married. I want to have someone who becomes my responsibility to take care of. I want to have that feeling that I am going home to someone. I want to be a housewife.

I want to be able to stop paying attention to details. I have too much going on in my head. Za7ma za7ma mani gadra 5ala9. Wayid information, not enough time to istaw3ib it all. Abi ra7at bal.

I wish I was the kind of person that can plan. Which reminds me I need to tell the na6oor to clean the apartment 7ag my dubai trip. Dammit.

We are 6 people in the department and have 3 direct lines. Since ramadhan started the lines are ALWAYS busy. Shilsalfa?? People talk more in ramadhan or something?? Ive been trying to call a customer all morning. Cant use my mobile - they disconnected my phone :( Wouldnt want a customer to know my personal number anyways.

How do you write the Roman Numerals for the number 9?? Thinking for my Random Photos Post Title.

My friend's friend's sister is in town on business. I need to switch into hostess mode. Sick and tired of epopel getting the wrong impression of Oman. I cant call her cell cos my phone is disconnected. lawa3tu chabdi kil youm itgooloon bayrid il 5a6 ba3ad sa3a. I dont know her last name to ask for her at the hotel. Miskeen the receptionist guy tried all varied different spellings of Aisha (her first name) to try and figure it out but apparently not a single Aisha is staying at the hotel. LOL.

Faqda 7anan - abi 7ad ydali3ni. Abi 7ad to take charge of me and my life. Kileh ana organiser oo decision maker oo 5arabee6. Ta3abt ya nas. Abi ramadhan y5ali9 3ashan aroo7 il gym fil nahar. Abi il 3eed iyee wiroo7 3ashan asafir. Thailand trip cancelled for me only. Awain il kil yabi medical checkup. Shasawi ana ba3dain ag3id broo7y??

I love my dad - I hate you Amu, you just made me feel ini mga9ra wiya uboy. Ams ygooli min zaman ma bisteeni oo ana radait 3alaih "bye mista3jila". Uufff the guilt trip.

Im making my own rules - this is now a tag and I need answers from everyone to help me with my problems.

Dont you ever wonder how bored people are?? The person who sits there and types out that SMS message and starts off a forwarding frenzy?? Was having this discussion with a friend a few days ago. I just got this email titled Qurum City Centre which sparked it up.

Its Always Nice To Get Presents For No Reason

I love it. A friend of mine who shares my passion for Coach and we have a habit of buying each other the Coach letters or me buying her cooking related items as shes the same friend from here

Isnt that the cutest?? She is very familiar with my previous obsession with Freej when it first came out 2 ramadhans ago as was very clear from my postings here, here and here.

Im not so obsessed anymore - in fact i didnt really enjoy Season 2 and this year havent watched anything really. But I still loved gettingthe text this morning saying "pass by my office" since that is code for "got something for u". We dont even work together anymore.

PS. Last pic is a pen. She got me the Um 5ammas pen since she got me the Um 3allawi stuffed doll but I saw that she got herself the Um 3allawi pen so I took that as well. LOOOL.

    I Am The Same Person I Was 2 Years Ago . . .

. . . or have I changed??? It's funny when you think you are still the same person but when you really look back you realise that you have changed. These changes happen very very subtley but if you compare for example January 1st 2008 to January 1st 2006, you will think "damn who WAS i??". But I guess life experiences force these changes on you.

A simple example for myself. Over 2 years ago I started blogging and one of my most enjoyable posts to write was this one. I really enjoyed making the list and as I made the list realising that Im really not that picky about what I was my other half to be. But as we single ladies out there grow older, our priorities change dramatically. Ah the cynical old me as per a once upon a post about love almost exactly two years ago that no longer exists.

So basically I amended the old list in order to incorporate the new me. After amending it I realised it sounds like its pretty similar but trust me, its VERY different. I know it but perhaps I cant really explain it. Anyways the final result is as follows:

Must-haves (personality related characteristics) - no major changes really

    1. Respect - notice this comes top of the list and before love. And respect will ALWAYS top love for me.
    2. Sense of humour - if he cant make me laugh hes OUT (upgraded)
    3. Someone who loves me for who I am and will not try to change me.
    4. Open-minded but not of a western mentality. I dont want someone who says "SO WHAT, WHO CARES?" if i mention that something is socially unacceptable in our society. Obviously I care to a certain extent.
    5. Not too religious - but multazim and knows his God.
    6. Social and out-going to a limit - i dont want a party animal.
    7. Has similar hobbies and interests as me (mainly cars and water activities) - notice its no longer "same" but now "similar". I will never find a guy that enjoys hours of shopping so I had to compromise. LOOOOL
    8. Intellectually stimulating - i like an educated reader
    9. Accepting of my male friends
    10. Confident and self assured - i dont like those so-so guys that need someone to make a decision for them - he has to be shwaya ba6ran and 3indu haiba.
    11. Romantic - im all about romance, flowers and presents will always put a smile on my face especially when there is no occasion for it - even if the present was a chocolate bar cos he knows it makes me feel good.

    Must-haves (non-personality related characteristics)

    1. Tall - at least 173 cm in height - i still want him taller than me when i wear my heels
    2. Big built - i like a guy who when he hugs me, i dissappear - might be a little difficult to find but basically i dont want no skinny asses
    3. Good stable job with a steady income - i dont want the reason for me working to be the NEED for money but more of his support for my personal and professional growth. Wealth is not an issue for me. Bil3aks, I would prefer it that he wasnt that wealthy so that I know 15 years down the line that we made our nice comfortable life together by ourselves with no help from no daddies. LOL.
    4. No long hair - dont like that on guys
    5. Trendy - im a fashionable person, if pink is in fashion, i want him to wear pink provided he likes it and it suits him - i will not force it though - he still has to be individual and unique in his own exclusive way
    6. Very good english speaker - i communicate mainly in english, cant think too fast in arabic
    7. Of an upbringing similar to mine - i dont want someone who lived and has a completely different family life experience from me - simple small things really make a difference. Which is one of the main reasons I will NEVER consider a western guy. The differences are just too much. Then again ask me in ten years I would have half this list. Beggars cant be choosers. LOOOOL

So honestly, is it too much to ask?? I beleive that Im being relatively realistic.

5ashim update: 6ala3 il 3ayyar is on annual leave - LOOOL 7ata ma gal. 3araft min sikirtayrat mudeeri il youm. Bayrid taree5 October 12th which means I will already be on MY annual leave. So basically ma abchoof rag3at wayhe lain November. Wanasa. Laman sa2alt chan howa ma5ith-ha faj2a. Youm ba'2a mini my Management report, youm il tasleem kan ehwa already ijaza - ya3ni kan fi kil il 7alat baydabisni feeha. ya7laileh mudeeri, my leave balance is 4 days short of what I applied wana madri, chan ygool 5theeha il ijaza mithil ma ba'3aiteeha oo gooly la HR ini ana mwafig.

    Random Photos - Part VIII

    AND MORE PICS

My gorgeous nephews. Their mom and I took them to a ghabga that was organised by my other cousin's workplace. They had a great time with the magician. Both were selected to be the magician's helpers.

Fahooda, my favourite, who actually never looks at the camera when u wanna take a pic and if he was, he has to mess up the picture by pulling a face. This one he actually asked me to take the camera out and take a pic. 7ayati.

Dad hated them. I love trainers cant help it. And no I will not succumb to my age and wear heels for eid. I wore heels last eid. Actually the last 2 eids I wore heels. Im pulling another funky stunt, which appears it always happens in the ramadhan eids. Last Eid Ramadhan was the pink tie and waistcoat incident.

The ones on the left are last eid ramadhan and the ones on the right are il 3eed il 3od. Needless to say I had back pains on 2nd day of eid as both days I was out til after midnight.

I guess if my dad hated my trainers so much on Eid day, then I will have to wear my original Eid shoes that took a back seat when the trainers were found.

PS. Had some trouble looking through my shoes to find these - man I seriously have a fetish for shoes. Can it be cured?? Do I WANT it to be cured???

Stereotyping The Omani People - Part II

Through discussions with some friends and fellow bloggers, I realised that there are so many more stereotypes and i loved this post by a fellow Omani blogger who categorised those working in Select. Anyways here goes more categories.

The Little Beyonces: Usually found at the movies on a Wednesday night. Little ratty looking waif-like girls with g-strings pulled up so high above their low waist jeans. The g-string HAS to have some kind of sparkly details because whats the point of showing it if its plain and boring. They would usually be standing around in a group waiting for their friends / bfs cos they just will not buy their own tickets. Gold diggers in training.

The Yo-Yo Dudes: They all think they are the sons of 50 cent. With their long shorts and Phat Farm trainers and basketball jerseys and bling bling chains. The Nelly style caps. They make me laugh these ones. Usually seems sauntering into the cinema to meet their Little Beyonces. They whipe out the wallets that are attached to a chain to their belt-loops.

The I-Hate-Lifers: With a constant sour-lemon-sucking face. They walk around with shoulders drooped as if the end of the world has come. Usually found working in Select stores or Centerpoint. Kil shay 3indhum "ma3raf" wila "kitha qalooli". Generally unwilling to exert any form of personality. If its a girl, then usually she will take a good five minutes to scan your items. If you take six bottles of water, be prepared that she will scan every single one instead of punching in 6x.

    More to come

    Its That Time Again

Yay - cant wait. The long extended leave is just ten days away. OMG i just started to panic. Didnt think it was that close.

Anyways so far any travelling to be done will have to happen before October 16th because of one major event being the first lecture of the MBA. Some of the family will be going to Thailand for the Eid holidays and Im still not decided whether Im going or not. Im not really too keen on going on holiday with my Mom, My brother and his wife when Im 28. LOL.

Otherwise for sure, I will be heading off to Dubai on the 9th for one week and this time Im planning on doing a lot of daytime events. This is my initial list which I will be updating as I organise my thoughts:

    1. The Dubai Culture Village - it looks really cool

    2. Nobu @ Atlantis - its opening next week and I cant go to Dubai and not go to Atlantis

    3. Wild Wadi before it gets too cold

For any Dubai based bloggers that wish to meet up please let me know. For any bloggers that might be in the area during that period also please let me know. It would be great. MD and ArabLady - i know i know. I have promised multiple times but inshallah this time is a charm. MD i cant access your blog, if you read this let me know.

Isnt this cool - you can enter some minor details that it asks for and a picture of your school, and sometimes if your lucky, also your class picture comes up.

Someone really fathi / bored must have made the effort to collect photos of so many schools.

    Little Things Make Me Smile

Im happy - lately lots of little things are making me smile. It started since the first day of Ramadhan. Thats a good thing right?? Im not trying to jinx myself or anything.

One of the cutest things that everytime I think about, I cant help but gigle to myself. Remember (aham shay chankum ga3deen jidami al7een agoolikum "remember" yaz3am). Ilmuhim, tit-thakaroon laman wadait my nephews to Toys 'R' Us to get whatever they wanted and they both chose the same toy?? Well what do you expect?? A 4 year old yabi ykoon mithil o5ooh elkbeer so he takes the same toy.

They chose this quad bike that has a dude sitting on it and is driven by a remote control. It was quite big 7ata the four year old when he was carrying the box he couldnt see anything and kept bumping into everything.

Anyways by the time we got home the boys went to bed and were told they can play with it the next day.

A few days later chan as2al bint 5ali "how did it go with the toys" wila tifga3ha tha7ka. Awain the remote needed batteries so we went to the supermarket to buy batteries chan yi6la3oon the wrong size PLUS we need a screwdriver to opne the batter case. So they go to the supermarket again and get to correct batteries and a screwdriver. When everything is set, the boys line up their quad bikes to race chan wa7id y7awil y'3ish oo yibda2 gabil ila yi6la3 ineh one remote moves both of them. LOOOOOOL.

Gamat my cousin itgool inha 7a6at kil wa7id fi 7ijra 3ashan ykoonoon ba3eed 3an ba3th ila iyee Fahooda (the 4 year old) y9ee7. Shfeek inzain?? Ba3deh the remote controls are so powerful that even when each one is in their own room, one still moves both quad bikes.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOL everytime I think of the boys i remember this salfa oo af6is thi7ik. Inshallah il tha7ka 3ala wayhi dom inshallah. Ma yi7sid il mal ila 9a7beh mithil ma ygooloon.

PS. The wanted Mudhish fil bidaya but whoever knows me will know how much i hate Mudhish. DIE FREAK DIE. And NO there is absolutely NOTHING cute about Mudhish. Misakeen there had these weird faces when they saw my reaction ila Hamad (the 6 year old) ygooli, "inzain ma lazim na5ith Mudhish". FEDAITHUM 7ABAYBI.

Stereotyping The Omani People - Part I

OK i seriously can't stop laughing. I just read a post by a Kuwaiti blogger who stereotyped the female Kuwaiti population and she did it in such a funny way but it was basically very very true. And I am sure any female readers will be lying if they denied even having a tiny touch of each type. I have to admit that when I go out I sometimes refer to myself as one of these stereotypes. Anyways here goes, starting from the youngest:-

The Rocker Dudettes: They range from the age of 13 to 17. Usually dressed in a skin-tight black t-shirt with the Rocking Stones lips'n'tongue with a few sparkly stones and stone-washed skinny leg jeans. Usually have the iPod permanently plugged in their ears even while in conversation with each other. They greet each other with the rocker hand signal and every SMS message is punctuated with \m/.

The Mini Victoria Beckhams: They are usually a gang of four, calling each other Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda. Of course "Carrie" is the leader of the pack in her Monogram LV 30 Speedy and dictates to the others what are the must-haves / must-buys over the summer holiday. Their conversation usually reverts around Serena Var Der Woodsen / Blake Lively's handbag in the latest Gossip Girl episode which they refer to in the correct name such as "Burberry Medal Studs Warrior Bag in Trench".

The KuKu Heads: Suddenly discovered the 3abaya and all the bling. Every single items MUST carry a large sparkly Hanayen / First Choice / First Lady logo. The "KuKu' aka 3ish il '3urab aka qamboo3a usually adds an extra 30 cms as a minimum to their height. Must be wearing a a minimum of 3 inch heels and at least a combination of Body Shop body spray, Abdil Samad Al Qurashi bukhoor AND Angel Perfume. The githleh is blowdried and highlighted to perfection while the rest of the hair is probably still wet from the hair being washed.

The Free Lifes: Usually those that have never been outside the country, studied in a local college but have this impression of themselves as being better than everyone else. Wearing skinny jeans tucked into high heel knee-high boots and a skinny scarf wrapped around their necks despite the 40-plus degree weather because "it looks cool" and was in fact the exact same article in the "Look like a million dirhams for under DHS 250/-" section in the latest Dubai version of HELLO magazine. They are seen usually with a large group of drooling male specimens sitting in Starbucks outdoors since indoors is a no-smoking zone. They consider themselves open-minded because they smoke in public places. Conversation revolves around whose house they went to for an after-party last weekend. The travel to Dubai to shop one weekend a year and insist of referring to their items as "moo min hnee". All handbags are knockoffs.

The Self-Righteous Bitches: The ones that sit in Darcy's Kitchen on a Friday afternoon giving every other girl the dirty looks for being either not conservative enough or just for being married. When they go to the toilet in pairs and come back looking all fresh and smelling nice, you know that it was a cigerette break. Yet if a girl smokes in public you hear them gasping in shock horror at the nerve of the girl. Snippets of conversation overheard will include key works like "dawrooli rayil" or "bitroo7oon 3irs flana" or "inroo7 Noodle House??". Each drives a minimum OMR 30K car bought by Daddy Dearest and are also referred to as Poor Little Rich Girls.

The Unknowns: They appear once in a blue-moon, consist of a mixture of poofed up poodle lookalike and boyats. Usually all walking around City Centre holding a Caramel Frappacino a few days before eid and are then never EVER seen again anywhere public. Never refer to themselves in real names but all have conveniently easy nicknames such as Shushu and Dooni. Seem to have a constant evil stare yet are completely harmless.

The Girl Band: Minimum of four girls seen strutting their stuff at the latest hip hangout, wearing synchronised / colour co-ordinated outfits. You get a massive amount of fake giggles if you comment about the matching wardrobes and get a reply of "it was SUCH a coincidence". YEAH RIGHT!!! All of very similar taste, body and shoes sizes therefore if you see one and recognise the dress, DO NOT COMMENT.

The Normals: Completely harmless, have various different groups of friends and are very into themselves. Very selective about their friends and yet seem to have the hate of everyone. Carry designer handbags but treat them like shit. Very well-travelled and usually sport a very casual wardrobe from normal high street stores that are not available in Muscat cos they dont wanna be seen in similar outfits to other people. The frequent the same spots and will never be caught dead at the cinema.

    Sickness = Binging

What is it about being ill and on medication that translates into binging?? Do antibiotics increase the apetite?? Or is it just the fact that your sitting at home doing nothing, bored since its also Ramadhan in addition to the fact that you dont even have enough energy to move around the house just to walk off the legs.

This results in dry chapped lips, since it appears that i slept while breathing through my mouth. Countless glasses of water and juice to cover up the taste of the medicine that seems to be stuck in my dry scratchy throat. Why cant adult medication also be sugar coated like kids medication??? Why cant antibiotics be in liquid form?? Why cant there be one pill that combines everything instead of swallowing 7 differently shaped and sized pills after every meal??
    Life is a mystery

    Butt, Bout, Colilla, Mozzicone, Yan6a7???

So its only 10 am in the morning and already I am having a very very strange day.

To start off, I woke up this morning with a very very sore butt, or as my little nephew likes to say "6az6oozy 3awarneee". Last night I had my first cycling class which I really enjoyed cos man that shit works you out hard. I did not expect the harder than rock seats.

Trainer: Everyone in position?? Any questions??
3aneeda: Is it normal that the seat is this hard??
Trainer: Yes dont worry first time it will hurt, by the third time you will be asking for more

Is it just me with the dirty mind or did that REALLY have a hidden sexual connotation???

Now you know me, I like making my post look nice with pics and funny stuff. So I used google translator to see what "butt" is in different language. Hence the title. English to arabic gave me yan6a7??? Yan6a7 shlon?? Head butt?? Hhhhmmm. Never mind.

On a lighter note, I just got this pic by email. It won awards and shit. Amazing isnt it?? Its basically a top view of camels walking in the desert. The little white things are the camels and the black is actually the shadows. True amazing.

5ashim update: Hes out of town. In Dubai on a business trip. Wonder if he will try the hotel scam again when he gets back!!!

    My Name is Mary Poppins

Or at least thats what a lot of my friends call me. Cos apparently my handbag is huge and has all kinds of useless junt-in-case items in them. Like candy for those low sugar days except the candy is all squished and probably expired by now. The tape measure (dont ask me why i even had it in the first place) that DID actually come in handy in a furniture store. The collection of pens. The spare watch. Three bottles of perfume. And the list goes on and on. Of course when a handbag is changed, all this shit moves with it. No no no, whoever gave you the idea that 3aneeda would probably rub her two braincells together and clear out the junk!!! NO WAY!! The lazy gene is much more dominant.

Oh yeah and the lollipop that was there since New Years Eve 08. Therefore a 9 month old lollipop. Well I just felt like reconnecting with that inner child in me. I hope I dont get a stomach ache from it now. Good thing I have those pain pills in my bag. ;P

    A Very Random Post

Im starting off this post without a title because i really dont know what i wanna talk about. I have sooo much to say but i cant seem to be putting it into words.

For some reason today i took the day off work. Mako sabab bas makan li 5ilg adawim. Makan li 5ilg achoof 5ashim lani i had to go see my GM for something minor oo adri ineh 5ashim byitda5al fil mawthoo3. Aham shay ineh il GM nasy howa shu mwaqi3li gabil youmain wal7een yabeeni aroo7 ashra7 kil shay mara thania. Madri.

Im actually seriously considering a career change. I want to get out of banking. 5ala9 ta3abt min kil shay 7sabat oo savings oo current oo customer oo charges 00 call centre 00 service quality 00 shakawi oo mashakil oo balawi il dinya wil deen. Mabi. Is it too much to ask??

Ramadhan shagool 3aneh?? Kileh akil oo TV for people in general. This year 9ayra aroo7 il gym for a couple of hours a day oo bagi il youm ana online - 9ayir idman. Mako sh'3el. its too hot to do anything outdoorsy which is the natural jaw of ramadhan oo hathi il sina kil mukan is crap.

Im watching this move with Sly Stallone about some Formula 1 racing - Obviously there is a girl involved that ditches one guy for his brother than ditches him for the original guy she was trying to make jealous the whole time. Does this shit really happen?? The way i see it these ideas for the movies have to come from real life!!!

So i just came up with a title for the post. LOL. Oh yeah and Ive been adding lots of new blogs to my "to do" list. Been discovering some great new blogs. Man I missed this.

Took my cousin's 2 little boys (4 and 6 years old) to Toys R Us today to get whatever they wanted - soooo cute. They selected one toy each even though they had an open budget and they both took the same one "3ashan ma nit-tharab 3alaih fil bait". My cousin is doing a very good job. My body clock is ticking. LIKE CRAZY.

Is there a way in our culture to have your own kid biologically without the husband as excess baggage?? I dont want a husband. I just want my own child.

PS. Im officially sick of people saying "no ur lying" when i tell them Im Omani. 9irt agool "ee 9a7 9idtooni ga3da achathib" WTF!!!!

    Wake Up Its A Beautiful Morning . . .

    . . . NOT.

I dont know whats wrong with me. My alarm is set for 815 and i wake up at 630. When I look at the time, I see that I have another hour and a half to sleep, so it take me another 15 minutes to go back to sleep only to get out of bed at 839 after snoozing 3 times (at 8 minutes each snooze time) and rush to work.

I dont get it - Ive been coming to work late every Ramadhan morning because of the same routine. Al7een abi afham, dam ini 9a7ait 3adil il sa3a sita oo nu9, laish faj2a iyeeni il kasal oo ma agdar a97a?? 3athaaaaaaabbbb.

Il7amdila i still didnt get comments on my lateness - i guess its because i sit with a different department oo y5afoon mini. LOL

Wear Your Emotions On Your Sleeve

I never really understood this statement. How do you wear your emotions on your sleeve?? If your upset, is your sleeve wet from tears?? If your happy is your sleeve colourful and bright?? What about anger?? Remorse?? Regret?? You get my drift??

I dont know why I just thought of this??

    Penny for your thoughts??

5ashim update: He is non-muslim therefore working hours are 8 to 4. Yet every morning I arrive before him. Hmm. I start at 9. Yesterday he leaves before me. I leave at 2. Is it because the big boss is out of town??? Cheeky arent we. Explains why I never got a reply to my email.

    I freaked Myself Up

Ok so last night, a la Ramadhan's new timings, I went to bed a lot past 2 am. So i do the customery routine of drinking a whole bottle of water in one go while semi-lying down and therefore the 10 minute coughing fit before going to sleep. Have you ever seen anyone more lazy??

At about 4 am i wake up with a fright and I find myself mid-turn. HOW WEIRD IS THAT??? As in literally i was rolling over in my sleep and i scared myself awake. I never even know that was physically possible. So you know what happens?? I sit there in bed looking around checking that nobody saw me. As if anyone would see me, i lock my door at night. But thats what happens when paranoia kicks in.

I think it must have taken at least an hour for me to fall back asleep. Therefore resulting in a slightly over-confident saunter into the office at 10.30 am. (Ramadhan Working Hours for Muslims 9 am to 2 pm).

So generally not really a good day. Cant really say I woke up on the wrong side of the bed since my bed is stuck up against the wall.

Now to make things worse, some dude I work with, lets call him 5ashim cos hes just sooo nosey. Anyways, he butts into an email convo that is going on between a department and a branch and myself. Since I am the problem solver. Now this 5ashim dude is not involved with what Im doing at all but pertains to the same department but is somehow trying to do a takeover. WTF???

Sorry bas ma gadart amsik 3umri - shara5teh ib email agooleh something along the lines of "me 7 years banking experience - you zilch - butt the fuck out"

Im still waiting for the reply - krkrkrkrkr

And here we go again . . .

. . . I have nothing against Ramadhan - I just have something against the hypocrites that come out in their true colours during this holy month.

I am a non-head-covering individual, but I wear the shaila during Ramadhan so satisfy my dad and society. My dad is generally anti-3abaya and anything depressing but during Ramadhan I dont want people accusing me that I am the reason that the guys are breaking their fast because my hair is on show. So I avoid that and wear the shaila. Yet I get called a hypocrite. Hhhmmm.

Am I?? This coming from someone who looks like shes so sick that she might collapse any minute because since its Ramadhan shes not wearing any make-up??? She is not shaking hands with any of the male colleagues, her phone is on silent, her voice does not raise above the whispers of a mouse and if she finds herself in a situation where she is left alone in the room with a male colleague she will make a point to leave it until someone else comes in.

Seriously??? Who are you kidding?? Do you see me THAT much different from every day?? I never wear makeup to work. I share an office with a male colleague. The only difference is the head gear. Im not the one that used to take out my compact in the middle of the office and powder my nose. Does the fact that you wear the shaila all year round give you the right to be condescending and accumulate a holier-than-thou attitude??

    Kiss my ass, Bitch.

    Allahuma ini 9a2ima. LOL

    Random Photos - Part VII

And multiple trips later, I come back with cash remaining in my wallet - Im actually very impressed with myself.

The usual Ramadhan / Eid shopping that was supposed to be done in one of my multiple Dubai / Abu Dhabi / Jordan trips and this is all I come out with. Looks like Im going naked again. LOOOOOOL

Did I mention that I chopped off my hair??? Yep - did a Victoria Beckham style haircut that I now regret. Literally came out with one third the length I walked in with. Im growing it back again now since the main reason I cut my hair was the heat and summer didnt last very long this year thankfully.

Spring cleaning resulted in 50+ pairs of shoes going to charity - Emilda Marcus no longer - I now have less than 100 pairs of shoes remaining. Obsession per say??

Work!!! What can I say - I think I need a career change. Any suggestions???

    Random Photos - Part VI

A follow up Dubai trip after my birthday was necessary. Thats when I realised that metallic shoes appear to be dominant. LOL

Great nights out with great friends - some obsessed by ceiling fixtures hence this pic - I cant even remember which friend it was that asked me to take a pic of this. Never the less - reminds me of the new Trader Vics in Dubai.

Najooya my darling I love you - a very good friend of mine - finally we had a long relaxed weekend together in Dubai as opposed to our usual mad rushed few hours.

My summer holiday 08 was in the Dead Sea in Jordan - was not a very good choice but never the less meeting up with old friends always trumps location.

The charity gala dinner made a come-back this year. Even more successful. Same location as the previous one - for more details click on the following link http://3anooda.blogspot.com/2006/08/gala-fund-raising-dinner-shangri-la.html

    Random Photos - Part V

Ok just the random photos makes a come back - might have a few issues in one since ive been away for so long.

The obsession with Noor - dont ask me Im totally NOT a TV kind of person but for some reason i got hooked - my friend took this pic on a visit to Oman from Dubai. They were staying at the Shangri-La and i was distracted for a hour watching the missed episode. LOL

So nice birthday cake huh?? A friends birthday in Dubai - of course im sure u all know my obsession with Dubai but see not all trips are for myself - some like these are to carry out social duties. LOOOOOOL

Finally I went to Central Perk

My birthday, celebrated in Dubai of course, dinner was in Buddha Bar. I strongly recommend the Red Platter Sushi. Its to DIE for.

Made some good new friends on my birthday weekend. Hopefully the kind that lasts.

Im looking for my Xander Cage

Do you ever get your thoughts wandering off like crazy when your watching a specific movie or something?? Like seeing something on TV and going "that is EXACTLY what im looking for". Well I always go through that but Im not at all a celebrity buff. I NEVER get star struck. Can you imagine how much I HEART Mr. Big from Sex and the City. Well I saw him in a cafe in New York City and all i did was giggle to my girlfriends "OMG thats Mr. Big". Of course they embarassed me and shreiked so loud that he turned around and noticed us and gave that "teenage girls" look. If he only new that I was the youngest of the group at 24.

But my oh my does he take my breath away. I think if i ever see him in real life i very possibly will attach myself to him. No matter what any body guards say or do. Even though i doubt he needs body guards. So basically im watching xXx right now on MBC 2 and im just breathless. I only discovered Vin Diesel through this movie and ever since he has become the guy i compare all guys to. LOL. i know i know i sound like a horny teenage schoolgirl but i cant help it. His voice, his biceps, his bald head, he is just absolutely yummy.

Over and out before I overdo it.

    Blogging again??? Perhaps

Ive always been trying to come back and blog but i dont know what happens. I come back, read through my old entries, laugh about them and go back to whatever I was doing (since this usually happens during working hours).

Now its just after lunchtime on a Friday, Im sitting at home watching Catch Me If You Can, trying to decide whether to go watch Tropic Thunder at 330. Im in that blah moods - where I slept so much that Im still lazy. Have so many errands to do just before Ramadhan and my phone has been ringing non-stop with "Jum3a mbaraka" and "Ramadhan Kareem" messages from numbers I dont know. So since Im bored and got nothing to do, Im actually making the effort to reply to these people asking who they are. Some dude is insisting that I am Hussain and that he has always been communicating with me on the same number.

So its Ramadhan again - time really flies. Cant beleive its already been almost six months since I moved jobs, its almost time to renew the registration on my car, im 28 already and feeling like im going on 73. I remember turning 26 a few months after i started blogging. Going back and reading the stuff i wrote before really surprised me. Its interesting to see how much ive changed. The most interesting was my man wish-list. Just shows how people change with experience and whatever u thought u would always want is not what u want anymore.

PS. He still has to be taller than me. LOOOOOOOOOL

What will happen to Shu - Jumeirah Beach Road??

Its one of my favourite hangouts in Dubai - a very chilled oud shisha cafe on Jumeirah Beach Road, not too far from Madinat Jumeirah area - its right on the road and during winter, it was where i used to go on a daily basis - just order a shisha and play 6awla. I hope they dont shut it down. Already there are places where after 12 midnight, shisha is not allowed outdoors like on Sheikh Zayed Road. Whats the point?? What would moving it indoors do that is protecting the whatever of the public?? Silly asses.

    ____________________________________________________

Shisha cafe owners have until the end the year to move out of residential areas or face heavy penalties or closure, Dubai Municipality warned on Sunday.

Announcing new smoking regulations, a senior Municipality official warned cafe owners that the fourth phase of the smoking regulations in public would be taken seriously, newspaper 7 Days reported on Monday.

“We will not hesitate to close down shisha cafés if they don’t follow our regulations. We are serious about this issue,” said Salem Mesmar, assistant director general of Dubai Municipality for the health, safety and environment control sector, the newspaper quoted.

Under the new rules all entertainment and recreation areas will be fined the equivalent of $544 if they do not adhere to the smoking ban, unless they have a licence allowing them to maintain a specific smoking area.
